Hyderabad: The Centre has informed the Hyderabad bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal that neither AP nor Telangana has initiated process to appoint IPS officers as DGP so far as the process of allocating officers on a permanent basis to the two states has not been completed.

The ministry of home affairs has communicated this to the tribunal through a counter-affidavit pursuant to its direction while dealing with two petitions filed by senior IPS officers S.A. Huda and T.P. Das challenging the appointment of J.V. Ramudu and Anurag Sharma as DGP of AP and Telangana respectively.

It was submitted that the process to appoint the Head of Police force involving the UPSC will be taken up only after the final allotment of the cadre to the each state. The ministry stated that it is awaiting the recommendations of the Pratyush Sinha Committee to work out modalities for allocation of cadre for the two states.
