Hyderabad: The new design for vehicles of the Telangana police has been making news for quite some time.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao gave the final go-ahead for the design, which was launched on Thursday. The design project was bagged by IBRAND MarkComm Ltd, which had received the design brief from Administrative Staff College of India. Sangeetha Rani Gummi, managing director, IBRAND MarkComm Ltd says, “The Telangana state police (TSP) department is implementing a number of key initiatives as a part of its ‘Smart and Safe Hyderabad’ project.

As a part of this, it was felt that there was a need to enhance the brand image of TSP through symbols like logos, vehicle branding etc. We kept in mind that the design elements should reflect the following characters they should be secular and apolitical, attention grabbing and highlight the importance of the TSP force.”

The colours used in the design have been picked carefully and bear significance. “The colour gold is associated with higher ideals, wisdom and understanding. Blue signifies vigilance, perseverance and justice.

It is also associated with depth, expertise, and stability. The stripes in the design symbolise authority. They also symbolise rays of light emanating from the sun which lights up the world with hope,” adds Sangeetha. The company had created 10 designs for the car and as many for the bike.

The fresh design will have an impact on the public, and will cater to the CM’s plan of rebranding Hyderabad. “It is a design which is not intimidating in any way, instead it will allow people to visually associate our State Police with approachability and professionalism,” adds Sangeetha.
