Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, on Sunday said he had no role to play in denying approvals to colleges for participation in the Eamcet web counselling.
It also came to fore on Sunday that colleges belonging to TRS ministers and MLAs had been denied approval. Colleges run by transport minister P. Mahender Reddy and MLA Dasari Manohar Reddy were among those denied approval.
"Who denied approvals to these colleges? It was based on the JNTU inspection report. Task Force committee reports are there. What can the government do in this?" said Mr Rao.
Mr Rao also criticised the colleges saying that their poor standards should be blamed for engineering graduates becoming home guards and constables. “Earlier, when teams would go for inspections to engineering colleges, they wouldn’t be allowed to cross the gates. Such was the case,” he said.
