Mumbai: The humongous opening of Singham Returns has made it clear once again that Ajay Devgn is one of the biggest players in the industry.

The film that followed Salman Khan’s Kick and Akshay Kumar’s Entertainment, has managed to stand on its own with powerful figures to boast of.

The actor, however, clarifies that he is not competing with anyone.  “The target is to make money for the producer. The focus is to make a good film and not break each other’s records.

I’m not competing with Salman, Akshay or any other actor. They have their audience and I have mine,” says Ajay.

He adds that he doesn’t get intimidated or carried away by box office figures.

“Barring Himmatwala, most of my films have fared well. But that doesn’t give me the reason to sit back and rest on my laurels. The bar is raised. The expectations from us are sky high. The focus is to not let the audience down. The film can do average business but the actor needs to live up to the faith his audience has in him.”

A while ago there was talk about how Ajay was toying with the idea of going on a sabbatical.

But the workaholic actor dismisses the idea. “I might go on a small vacation with my family but the thought of going on a sabbatical has never occurred to me,” he says.
