Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao looks for some give and take
'I requested Naidu to allow us to use their port since Telangana has no coast or ports'
Hyderabad: Telangana State Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said that he advised Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu on the new AP capital and told him that the area near Mangalagiri/Amaravati would be ideal as per vastu.
“I requested Mr Naidu to allow us to use their Bandar Port since TS has no coast or ports, to which he agreed. Similarly, there are several institutions in Hyderabad, whose services Andhra Pradesh can avail. This should be a give and take,” Mr Rao said.
Mr Naidu said, “We agreed to cooperate on distribution of 60,000 employees and 107 state-level institutions. It was agreed that issues should be resolved through talks.”
However, few issues such as special powers to the Governor on law and order etc., did not come up for discussion in the meeting. Mr Rao said that they had agreed to swap officials like the existing chief secretary and DGP, if they were allotted to the other state as part of the AIS distribution.
