Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will take up a study on the ‘single window system’ being implemented in Singapore for granting approvals to set up industries during his visit to the city on August 22 and 23.
The Telangana government is already in the process of drafting a ‘single window system’ as part of its new industrial policy to be unveiled soon and Mr Rao wants to replicate the Singapore model to attract investments in the sate.
Finance minister Etela Rajender is also expected to accompany the CM, along with senior officials of the CMO and the industries department. This will be Mr Rao’s first foreign tour as the CM and he will address the meet organised by the IIM alumni association at Raffles City.
Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, former President S.R. Nathan, deputy Prime Minister, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, and minister S. Iswaran, will be among the participants.
Though the CM only was invited for the meet, the ministers and officials have been included for the tour with an aim of conducting an in-depth study of the single window system of Singapore, which has been successful in attracting huge investments from all parts of the world and led to record growth within a short span.
“I want to interact with as many industrialists and entrepreneurs as possible during my Singapore visit. Though it’s difficult to finish the task in two days, we will compile all our observations,” said Mr Rao.
