Hyderabad: Given the current figures, there is likely to be a shortfall of enumerators during the survey in Greater Hyderabad. As on Monday, there were 20,000 enumerators and 42,000 associate enumerators (of whom 7,500 are police officials). Each official has been assigned 50 houses. In several parts of the twin cities, the number of houses is far more than the GHMC’s calculation.
In the areas assigned to the enumerators, the actual number of houses varies from the GHMC data. As per the 2011 Census, Greater Hyderabad is home to 77 lakh people, however, the population has increased to a crore. Around 7,000 Resident Welfare Association members have offered their services to fill  the gap.

On Sunday, 21 lakh houses were covered for the pre-survey exercise, however check slips and pamphlets did not reach many. Ramnagar, Quthbullapur, Kapra, Neredmet, Aghapura, Masjid and other areas were not covered. Distribution was carried out on Monday as well. The survey will begin at 7 am on Tuesday in Greater Hyderabad and continue till all houses are covered.
GHMC received 5,500 calls on a single day (the regular number of calls is 300), and an addition 30 lines to the present 20 have been opened for queries regarding the survey. As on Monday, 25,000 citizens downloaded the four-page form the GHMC website.

In Greater Hyderabad, the survey will begin from 7 am on Tuesday and will continue till all households are covered. It is not compulsory for emergency services employees, NRIs and Interstate migrants to be present during the survey, their parents, wives or relatives can furnish the details. In case of weddings, death and hospitalized, citizens can call the enumerator (on the number given during the pre-survey) to complete the inspection on priority bases. Residents can call on 211 11 11 1 or email to www.ghmc.gov.in or SMS to the enumerator for further doubts.
