Big plans? KCR to market Telangana in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur
The Chief Minister has decided to woo foreign companies for investment
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesdsay night left for Singapore and Malaysia on a five-day trip where he will “showcase and market Telangana state.”
Taking advantage of an invitation to participate in the meeting of the Indian Institute of Management Alumni Association in Singapore on August 22 and August 23, the Chief Minister and his team, comprising finance minister Etela Rajender and CMO officials, would study the existing single window system in Singapore besides marketing the new Telangana state as investment destination for worldwide companies in Singapore and Malaysia besides learning innovative practices.
“I want to utilise the opportunity to its fullest. I am the only Chief Minister of the new state to be invited for the meet. I was invited as they were impressed by government’s fight for zero graft like Singapore and other Scandinavian countries,” he said at a media conference.
Mr Rao said the IAA was also impressed by the government’s slum-free Hyderabad concept and wanted him to address the august gathering.
Mr Rao also plans to drive down from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia on the famed Express Way.
“We will also meet government officials to ascertain their success stories,” he revealed.
IIM Alumni Association Singapore invited Mr Rao and his team to participate in the two-day meet on August 22 and August 23.
