More than 600 people to get NTR Sujala scheme benefits
Beneficiaries will be availed facility from October 2 onwards
Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh: East Godavari district collector Neetu Prasad on Wednesday said that more than 600 beneficiaries have been identified under the NTR Sujala scheme for drinking water.
Prasad in the meeting held here on Wednesday said around 612 beneficiaries in the district will get the benefit of the scheme under which 20 litres of drinking water would be provided at the cost of Rs 2.
Nearly 1,000 gram panchayat in the district were identified on basis of condition of drinking water.
Beneficiaries will be availed facility from October 2 onwards.
"Under the scheme RO plants will be set up in each mandal of the district, established by private companies and will be run by self help groups," she said.
The collector also called on the industrialists, NGO and other service organisations to come forward to establish and run the RO plants.
Zila Panchayat chairperson N Rambabu also attended meet, said that the scheme would help people in the rural areas to overcome health problems.
