Hyderabad: History was made on Tuesday in Greater Hyderabad with lakhs of residents participating in Telangana’s biggest and first-of-its-kind Household Survey.

A curfew-like situation prevailed in the city as public and private transport stayed off the roads along with most residents. Many NRIs rushed from Gulf countries on a special flight from Jeddah, landing on Tuesday morning for the survey.

Many parks across the city were also closed from early morning. Kasu Brahmananda Reddy Park, Jalagam Vengala Rao Park and other big parks that are frequented by walkers every day remained closed from 5 am . While many walked on the walkways outside the parks, some returned home without their morning exercise. Many questioned the GHMC as to why walkers were prevented from the parks as they had no link to the survey.
