Kolkata: In an explosive disclosure which may embarrass West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Saradha Group owner Sudipta Sen claimed on Tuesday that Trinamul MP from Birbhum Shatabdi Roy served in his chit fund company as its brand ambassador for a monthly salary of Rs 2 lakh.
Earlier Ms Roy vehemently denied her association with Saradha Group. Mr Sen also rejected textiles minister Shyamapada Mukherjee’s claim that the Trinamul MLA only got around Rs 2.71 crores by selling his cement factory in Bankura.
“He was paid in cheque and cash much more than the amount he claimed. I want to be back to CBI custody. They will summon many more.” Mr Sen said following his production at Suri court in Birbhum.
