The court has now summoned the previous Investigation Officer, Kishan Shengal
Mumbai: According to multiple media reports the documents and all original statements in Salman Khan’s hit and run case have gone missing.
The police informed the court about the issue during the last hearing reportedly.
The court has now called the previous Investigation Officer, Kishan Shengal to be present on September 12th , the date of the next court hearing. He will be required to file an affidavit in court on how the original documents disappeared.
Out of a total of 63 documents, 7 original files are missing; however there are photocopies available of the missing documents.
The case, dragging on for over a decade, had taken a twist earlier this year when the magistrate, after examining 17 witnesses, held that the charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder was made out against Salman and referred the matter to a sessions court, as cases under this offence are tried by a higher court.
