Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro sequel on its way
Satish Kaushik and Kundan Shah have confirmed that they will team up for the sequel
Mumbai: After a lot of back and forth on the sequel of Kundan Shah’s cult ’80s film Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, things are finally on track.
We now hear that Satish Kaushik and Kundan Shah have confirmed that they will team up once again for the sequel.
Satish has given the NOC to producer Neeraj Vora to make the film, who is now seeking the rights of the film from the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC).
Our source says, “Satish Kaushik will be acting in this film. In the original film, he played Ashok Namboodiripad and he also wrote the dialogues.”
When contacted, Satish said, “The sequel to Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro is going to be very different journey. Times were very different back in the ’80s. Sometimes, for great work you need the hunger and dedication. Now we are all settled. So it is going to be a big challenge, not just for the actors but for the writers, director and everyone else associated with the project. But we have immense faith in Kundan Shah. It’s also a moment of great nostalgia for me. Neeraj has asked me to help with the script but I haven’t been asked to be a part of dialogue writing process. But I am completely into the project.”
We need to see if they manage to recreate the ’80s magic.
