Bengaluru: The Department of Public Instruction (DPI) has directed the controversy-hit Vibgyor High School in Marathahalli to refund full amount to the parents who opt to take their children out of the school, but the school authorities are not budging. Several parents complained that even after the DPI order, the school is denying refund of any amount.

School authorities were not available for reaction. Some of the parents said that they have been visiting the school every day to get the refund, but are returning empty-handed. They said that the school is handing over only the transfer certificates. “The school has collected several thousands of rupees in the name of various activities for the whole year. The whole amount has gone waste now,” a parent told Deccan Chronicle.

But state education department officials are clueless. Mr S.M. Ramesh, Block Education Officer (BEO), Bengaluru South-4, said that no parent is withdrawing their wards from the school, and that all issues had been resolved. Another senior official suggested that if the parents are denied refund, they can lodge a written complaint with the department and officials will initiate action.
