Yoga guru Iyengar dies at 96
He been ailing since some time and was admitted to a private hospital

Hyderaba/Pune: World-renowned yoga guru and founder of the Iyengar School of Yoga B.K.S Iyengar, 96, passed away here obn Wednesday. He been ailing since some time and was admitted to a private hospital here a week back. He was put on dialysis after his condition worsened two days back.
Yoga instructors and followers of Iyengar Yoga in Hyderabad were in dismay following the news of his death. Vishwakarma Navajeevan of the Yoga and Meditation Centre at Madhapur said, “He had created about 300 postures and written more than hundred of books on yoga. He put yoga on the international map and this loss is very huge. His yoga postures are very scientific, rationale and easy to follow.”
Andhra Pradesh CM N. Chandrababu Naidu tweeted, “Yoga legend Sri BKS Iyengar believed that Body is the temple and asanas are prayer. May his soul rest in peace.”
