‘Hindu’ issue: controversy out of nothing, says Venkaiah Naidu
‘Jai Hind’; does it mean say Hinduon ki jai aur bakio ko nahi?”
Hyderabad: Amid the raging debate on RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s remarks, Union minister and senior BJP leader M. Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday slammed the attempts to create controversies.
He said, “Hinduism is not a religious concept, but a cultural identity.” “Why do we have Hindustan Machine Tools or even Hindustan Aeronautical Limited? These are not names given by Narendra Modi or Venkaiah Naidu. On August 15, what do you say? ‘Jai Hind’; does it mean say Hinduon ki jai aur bakio ko nahi?” Mr Naidu asked.
He argued that when one talks of ‘Swadeshi’, it means to tap the available knowledge in India and then excel. “We are not opposed to get anything from outside. This nation has the capacity to assimilate everybody.”
