Gold, diamond, property documents recovered from Censor Board CEO Rakesh Kumar's locker
He was arrested for allegedly accepting bride to clear a regional film
Mumbai: Further inquires and search on Rakesh Kumar CEO of the Central Board of Film Certification( CBFC) have begun by the Central Bureau of Investigation. They have found gold jewellery, diamond and legal documents of properties from his locker.
According to reports, the estimated value of the jewellery is approximately Rs 65 lakh and that of the property to be Rs 1 crore from his Vadodara locker.
More jewellery was also recovered from his Mumbai locker that was opened on Wednesday. However, the estimated value of those recoveries have not been evaluated.
“We knew that Kumar possessed these properties, but the documents were found today in the locker,” a CBI official said.
Rakesh Kumar was arrested on August 18 for allegedly taking bribe to clear a film. Reports said that he demanded Rs 70, 000 to clear a regional movie.
Shripati Mishra, an authorised agent, had sought a bribe of Rs. 70,000 on behalf of Kumar. This was to urgently clear ‘Mor Dauki Ke Bihav’, a film from Chhattisgarh. They were caught red-handed accepting a bribe on Kumar’s behalf.
