Certificate course on Gandhian Philosophy in AP College

The course will be conducted under the aegis of UGC’s Gandhian Studies Centre of YN College

Rajahmundry: A three-month certificate course on Gandhian Philosophy was inaugurated on Saturday at the Government Degree College Ganapavaram in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.

The course is being conducted under the aegis of UGC sponsored Gandhian Studies Centre of Y N College, Narsapur. Chief Guest P Shrirama Rao in his address said, "Gandhian philosophy tells us to love others and live peacefully. Live and let live was his core philosophy."

"The youth today are busy on cell phones, internet, cable TV etc and they forgetting about the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters like Gandhiji," he said.

He asked the students to practise Gandhian principles which are very simple for establishing a peaceful society.

Dr D Venkateswara Rao, Director of Gandhian studies centre distributed leaflets and booklets containing brief history of Gandhiji and his principles while principal K V Ramana Murthy presided over the function.

He asked students to imbibe the principles and philosophy of Gandhiji which is more relevant to the present violent ridden society.

Prof D Venkateswara Rao, Director, Gandhian Studies Centre of Sri Y N College threw light on the objectives of the course. Presently, there are 40 students who have enrolled in the course.
