Complainant alleged that the former minister and his brother grabbed 2,200 square yards
Hyderabad: The Neredmet police has booked another case against Congress leader Dr P. Shankar Rao for forgery, cheating and extortion in connection with a land grabbing case.
Based on a complaint filed by the Green Fields Plot Owners Association, who alleged that Mr Rao has encroached eight more plots at Green Fields, a court had ordered the police to book fresh charges against him. The police has also added a charge against the former MLA for insulting a woman revenue official using offensive language.
According to the complainant S. Chandrasekhar, the Association general secretary, the former minister and his brother P. Dayanand grabbed 2,200 square yards belonging to Green Fields in Kanajiguda village, and constructed boundary walls.
When the complainant approached revenue officials, Mr Rao tried to mislead them by producing forged documents. Later, after verifying the issue, the officials decided to demolish the boundary wall.
