Anantapur: ZP chairman Chaman Saheb on Saturday recalled the services of Andhra Pradesh’s first Chief Minister Tanguturi Prakasam Panthulu for the state’s development.

Addressing a gathering after paying floral tributes to the portrait of Tanguturi Prakasam Panthulu to mark his jayanthi at the ZP office, Chaman Saheb said that he fought for freedom of country from the British.

He called upon people to follow his ideals and work selflessly for the country.

Stating that he was never hungry for power, the ZP chief said that now in society, leaders are merely eyeing posts.

At a programme held at Lalithakala Parishad, collector Solomon Arogyaraj called upon people  not to forget the services of freedom fighters.

He appealed to people to make efforts for fulfilling their dreams.

Meanwhile the Tanguturi Prakasam Panthulu jayanthi was celebrated across the Rayalaseema region in a grand manner.

The leaders recalled his services and his fight for united Andhra people.
