Colonel allegedly misbehaves with junior's wife, probe ordered
Colonel was in an inebriated state when the alleged incident took place
New Delhi: The wife of an Army officer has alleged that her husband's commanding officer misbehaved with her during a public function prompting the Army to order a probe into the matter.
A Court of Inquiry (CoI) has been ordered after the wife of the officer filed a written complaint with the senior authorities against the Colonel, who is heading an infantry unit in Sriganganagar in Rajasthan, sources said.
The Colonel allegedly misbehaved with the woman during a lunch where the families of officers were present including her husband, they said.
The husband of the woman also complained to the Brigade commander about the incident, the sources said.
It is learnt that the officer was in an inebriated state at the time of the alleged incident and has been attached with another unit for the investigations.
Defence Ministry spokesperson Colonel SD Goswami confirmed that allegations have been levelled against the officer and the Army is carrying out investigations into the matter.
