Telugu Desam Party blamed for murders
Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee chief says state is encouraging political murders
kurnool: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president N. Raghuveera Reddy said that the government should be held responsible for ‘politically’ motivated murders.
Addressing a massive party workers meeting at Kurnool on Saturday, the PCC chief alleged that the TD-led government was encouraging political murders and as part of it, the government had removed security of some Congress leaders.
He compared TD chief Naidu to the character Sikandi of Mahabharata. In the name of women savings groups, he said that Naidu is planning to encourage mining and sand mafia in the state.
Despite assuming charge three months ago both the BJP government at the Centre and the TD-led government in the state have totally failed in all departments, Mr Raghuveera Reddy said.
He demanded that the government honour its promise of waiving the loans of farmers and SHGs. The PCC chief said Congress leaders were trying to exert pressure on the government to fulfil its poll promises.
He also expressed serious concern over the Assembly session where both the ruling and opposition leaders were trading charges instead of resolving people’s problems.
Former PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana blamed the TD for division of the state. As the TD gave the letter in favour of division, he said the Centre took a hasty decision. During division of the state, he reminded that it was proposed to give a special package for backward Rayalaseema.
He took serious note of the government not sa-nctioning loans to farmers despite conclusion of the kharif season.
He asked how can the government meet the loan waiver target with a meagre allocation of Rs. 5,000 crore for agriculture.
He appealed to government to fulfil all promises made during election time.
On the increasing murders, Botsa said the government should give top priority to law and order.
Former Central minister Kotla Jayasuryaprakash Reddy criticised the government for encouraging factionism in Rayalaseema. He took serious note of government withdrawing gunmen for Congress leader Cherukulapati Narayana Reddy despite lodging a complaint that he was facing a threat to his life.
If anything happens to his life, Mr Reddy said that Deputy Chief minister K.E. Krishna Murthy should be held responsible.
He said that Naidu was duping people in the name of smart cities and mega cities instead of completing irrigation projects.
Earlier, Congress leaders garlanded the portrait of Andhra Pradesh’s first Chief Minister Tanguturi Prakasam Panthulu to mark his jayanthi.
