Dysfunctional Mee Seva creates havoc
There is no power in Mee Seva centres
Hyderabad: Even though Mee Seva has started operating, citizens are lining up at centres and demanding proper service with centres remaining shut for more than six to eight hours a day. Operators are remaining away from the counters for long hours citing power cuts as a reason. Sometimes they come in just an hour or two before closing time for their shift. “The Mee Seva centres operate from 8 am to 8 pm and sometimes the operators come an hour or two before their shift ends. There is no alternative arrangement for power supply as there is no power in the e-seva centre at the opening time, again there is a two-hour power cut around afternoon. It is very difficult to get any service due to this and sometimes people stand in a queue and wait for the operator to turn up at 10.30 am and not finding them return,” said Srikanth Rao, who visited the centre at Banjara Hills. “Our operators work for peanuts and despite promises for a hike there is no action. While there is a deduction in the name of PF from the salaries, no PF is given.” said a manager.
