WhatsApp serves 600,000,000 monthly active users
WhatsApp was founded by Jan Koum and Brian Acton in 2009
Mumbai: WhatsApp CEO Jan Koum recently posted on twitter that the messaging service now has six hundred million monthly active users. Although, this February, Facebook announced the news regarding buying this online messaging application, the news does not seem to have affected WhatsApp’s popularity in any way.

The popularity of the online messaging app was rather visible when the news of TRAI imposing charges on WhatsApp created an uproar. To everyone’s luck, TRAI later dropped the idea.
Jan Koum and Brian Acton, both formers employees of Yahoo!, founded WhatsApp in 2009. Being available for free for a year and post that for a subscription of Rs 55 annually, many people choose WhatsApp over SMS.
