It would take at least three weeks for the students to get the marklists

Kochi: In a swift reaction to the DC report on Tuesday, the MG University declared the BTech final semester results partially on Tuesday.

In a damage-control exercise, the university made it appear that it had declared the results on the previous day by giving the date as August 25 while students asserted that the results were not available on its website on Monday.

They  also said that the varsity had not published the results for all branches in some colleges while some  colleges  had been left out.

“The university is trying to create  an impression that it has published the results and that the crisis is over,” said a student who has been hit by the results’ delay.

A senior official in the varsity, however, confided that it would take at least three weeks for the students to get the marklists which again will land them in serious trouble. Only if they  get the marklists  can they go ahead with their future plans. DC had reported  that the future of over 10,000 BTech students was in peril with the MGU’s inordinate delay in releasing the final semester results.

The students could not join either the MTech courses or take up placements with the deadlines passing while other varsities in the state have published the results. It is understood that even the revaluation system of the varsity is paralysed and its results are not published within the 45 days stipulated by the Kerala High Court. “The supplementary exams are called for after two months of publishing the normal results.

As the revaluation results are not published in 45 days, students are forced to pay fees for both revaluation and supplementary exams and suffer the agony,” said a parent.  MGU acting Vice-Chancellor Dr Sheena Shukkoor was unavailable for comments.
