Tighter police cover for Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan
An FIR has been registered under section 307 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code
Mumbai: The Mumbai police on Monday beefed up security around actor Shah Rukh Khan’s residential bungalow Mannat in Bandra’s Bandstand area and his office in the western suburbs following a tip-off that there was a threat to him.
The threat to the actor is being connected to the attack on the residence of film producers Ali Morani and his brother Karim in Juhu on Saturday night. No one was injured.
The Moranis who run a major events management company are said to be good friends with Shah Rukh Khan as well as actor-producer Aamir Khan. Sources said that a gangster wanted the Moranis to help him secure the overseas rights of a new Shah Rukh movie so he could pump in his black money and make huge profits.
It is learnt from sources that Mr Ali Morani received a phone call before and after the incident where the gangster claimed responsibility for the attack and also said that Shah Rukh Khan would be the next target. An FIR has been registered under section 307 (attempt to murder) and 34 (common intention) of the IPC.
