New Delhi: While three of the vetran BJP leaders have been moved out of the party’s main policy making body, the Parliamentary board has seen new entrances.
The board that included Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan and general secretary J.P. Nadda was reconstituted by party chief Amit Shah. They were also included in the central election committee, that decides which candidates will be fielded by the party in elections.
Mr Chouhan’s return to these two key bodies also signals his return to Mr Modi’s “good books”.
The 12-member parliamentary board chaired by Mr Shah now has Mr Modi, Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, M. Venkaiah Naidu, Nitin Gadkari, Ananth Kumar, Thawarchand Gehlot, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Jagat Prakash Nadda and Ram Lal as its members.
Besides Mr Advani and Dr Joshi, the BJP president also left out Hindutva hawk Vinay Katiyar from the central election committee. Tribal affairs minister Jual Oram also made an entry into the 15-member CEC.
