V K Malhotra likely to become new Kerala Governor after Sheila Dixit resignation

Thiruvananthapuram: Senior BJP leader and chairman of Delhi BJP election committee V. K. Malhotra is likely to be the new Governor of Kerala and  Mr O. Rajagopal may become the Governor of Pondicherry, it is learnt. 

 

Mr  Malhotra  was projected as chief minister candidate of Delhi against Congress’s Sheila Dikshit during the 2008 Assembly election. Currently, he is the Opposition Leader in the Delhi Legislative Assembly.

 

Mrs Sheila Dikshit’s resignation, which she announced at a press meeting at the Kerala House in New Delhi, came as a surprise to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.
