IPL spot-fixing: Mudgal panel may seek extension from SC before submitting the final report
Mudgal panel met the police investigators in Chennai
New Delhi: Formed to investigate the Indian Premier League betting scandal, the Mukul Mudgal panel on Wednesday met the police in Chennai.
The committee is reportedly going to submit an interim report to Supreme Court in relation with IPL 6 scandal.
Mukul Mudgal told a news agency that his committee on Thursday will decide whether it requires more time from the apex court to file a final report of their investigation.
The Supreme Court had set an August-end deadline for the submission of Mudgal report.
Last week, the Mudgal panel had issued an official statement via BCCI clarifying that it would not travel to England to interrogate any Indian player during the ongoing tour of England.
There were reports that the Mudgal panel had quizzed Gurunath Meiyappan and ex-BCCI chief N Srinivasan in Chennai. However, the Mukul Mudgal committee via a media release clarified that it did not quiz the duo.
