Telangana panels to review school curriculum for two subjects
Panel will review subjects to reflect the culture, history and language of the state

Hyderabad: The Telangana state government on Thursday formed two committees to review the school curriculum for Telugu and Social Sciences subjects to reflect the culture, history and language of the state. The committee will submit reports suggesting changes.
National, state and field-level-experts have been involved to recommend the changes. The 16-member Telugu committee will include people like Delhi University linguist Prof. Ramakant Agnihotri, Desapathi Srinivas, Nandini Sidha Reddy and Chukka Ramaiah among others.
The 12-member Social Sciences committee will include Prof. Kodandaram, NCERT member, Prof. M.V. Srinivasan and others. A committee of members from the State Council of Education Research and Training will provide the overall guidance to both the committees.
Literary groups and intellectuals from Telangana have said that the history and literature of the state was ignored in undivided AP. Prof. S. Jagannath Reddy, SCERT director, said Telugu language subjects will reflect TS dialect that is not followed currently.
