Movie rakes in dispute between Mohan Babu’s family and producer Bellamkonda Suresh
Mohan Babu family, Bellamkonda file complaints against each other
Hyderabad: The financial dispute between actor Mohan Babu’s family and Tollywood producer Bellamkonda Suresh over junior NTR starrer Rabhasa has ended in police cases with both parties filing complaints against each other.
Banjara Hills police booked cases against the producer and Manchu Entertainment manager Gajendra Naidu for wrongful restraint. While the actor’s party alleged that the producer confined them in his house when they went to ask for the Rs 58 lakh due, the producer alleged that the actor’s party tried to assault him. The film Rabhasa is being released on Friday.
“Both parties have approached the police with complaints. After receiving their complaints we booked cases against both parties for wrongful restraint,” said west zone DCP V. Satyanarayana.
Producer Suresh in his complaint alleged that Naidu stopped his car and wrongfully confined him near his house.
The trouble started with Suresh allegedly refusing to pay the Rs 58 lakh rent for Gandharva Mahal, owned by Laxmi Manchu, after using it for the shooting of Rabhasa. Suresh had promised to pay the money when the shooting gets finished, but, he allegedly went back on his word.
Manchu Entertainment officials and Suresh had arguments over the issue some days ago. Some workers of the company had also directly approached him for the money, however, he did not pay it.
The owner of the company Ms Manchu Lakshmi had also called him many times, but he didn’t respond to her calls. Banjara Hills police said that an investigation has been launched in the case, and that the people involved will be interrogated.
