Hyderabad: In order to decongest Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Kacheguda railway stations the South Central Railways plans to develop Moula Ali and Nagulapally (near Lingampalli) terminals. Secunderabad caters to 1.6 lakh people on a daily basis, while Hyderabad  accommodates 60,000 people and Kacheguda  accommodates 40,000 commuters.

All loading trains will  terminate at the two new terminals to be developed.
P.K. Srivastava, SCR general manager, said, “The maximum rail traffic density is towards the East (on the Secunderabad-Kazipet line), which is  the trunk route on SCR to the West (Vikarabad-Wadi-Mumbai). There is relatively low traffic towards the North and South. Most of the rail routes originate from Secunderabad, but there are only 10 platforms. The station gets cramped during peak hours.

“The Moula Ali and Nagulapally terminal will be developed as satellite stations to handle express and passenger trains which  will help decongest Secunderabad. Talks with the TS government have been successful. A concrete plan will be made soon,” said Mr Srivastava.
