Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh refuses to blame anyone

Lucknow: Union home minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday refused to identify persons who could be behind the “rumors” of his son Pankaj Singh being ticked off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for alleged misconduct.

“It is now up to the media to do some investigation and find out who is responsible for these rumors,” he said in an informal chat with reporters here. “You are all investigative journalists and you should find out who is the rumor monger,” he said when asked whether he suspected any one behind the campaign.

Mr Singh had said on Wednesday that he would quit politics if charges of misconduct were proved against any of his family members. The PMO termed the reports as “plain lies and motivated.”
