New Delhi: India's fiscal deficit in the first four months of the 2014-15 financial year was 3.25 trillion rupees ($53.7 billion), or 61.2 percent of the full-year target, government data showed on Friday.

The deficit was 62.8 percent during the comparable period in the previous fiscal year. Net tax receipts were at 1.47 trillion rupees in the first four months of the current fiscal year to March 2015, while total expenditure was about 5.04 trillion rupees.
