Kannur: Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala has made it clear that he was ready to face any probe in the vigilance case regarding the Travancore Titanium plant. He said that he had been unnecessarily dragged into the case as he was neither a minister nor an MLA when the decision to build the plant was taken.
He told reporters here, “I took charge as KPCC president on June 30, 2005. The cabinet decision on the plant was taken on May 18, 42 days before I took charge. I have no idea why the court mentioned my name in the case, “he said. He would neither criticise the court nor resign, he added.
He would take a decision on moving the upper court after receiving a copy of the verdict. He also rubbished the claim that he had threatened K.K Ramachandran Master before he was summoned by the vigilance court to give his statement.
