Canadian minister to visit India in September for promoting ties
He will visit India to meet with senior government officials and business leaders
New Delhi: Canadian minister Tony Clement will visit India during September 1-4 to explore business opportunities and enhance bilateral relations between the two countries.
"Minister Tony Clement, President of the Treasury Board of Canada, will visit India from 1 to 4 September, 2014," a release from the High Commission of Canada said.
He will visit New Delhi and Mumbai to meet with senior government officials and business leaders.
In Delhi, he will participate in round-table discussions with the industry body FICCI to seek opportunities for investment and technology cooperation in the natural resources sector, particularly Ontario’s Ring of Fire. He will also deliver a speech at the Indian Institute of Public Administration, the release said.
In his Mumbai visit, Clement will attend a round-table with senior officials from the government of Maharashtra on best practices in public sector reform and management. He will also deliver a speech at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences in Mumbai.
Clement’s visit will build on extensive and productive engagement between Canada and India over the past year, it added.
