Johannesburg: Saudi Arabia's King has warned Europe and the US against possible terror attacks by extremists if a strong international response to terrorism was not taken soon.
King Abdullah's statement comes as the Islamic State group continues to seize large swathes of territory across Iraq and Syria. The King, while refraining from taking any terrorist group by names, said that he was certain that the extremists would target Europe and America in the near future.
Speaking at a reception for foreign ambassadors on Friday, King Abdullah said that the terrorists were not acquainted with the term humanity and urged the ambassadors to relay his message directly to their heads of state, News 24 reports.
Earlier, on Friday, Britain raised the country's terror threat level from "substantial" to "severe" owing to growing conflicts in Iraq and Syria. The Obama administration, however, said there was no reason for the US to raise its terrorism threat warning level.
