RSS chief visits capital, holds ‘chai pe charcha’

Mohan Bhagwat held talks with prominent people from different walks of life

Thiruvananthapuram: RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat held ‘chai pe charcha’ with prominent people from different walks of life at the Government Guest House here on Sunday evening. He was at the fag-end of a week-long tour of the State. Earlier, he visited Vellimala ashram in Kanyakumari
 
The RSS had invited more than 20 people from various walks of life. Prominent among those who attended the meeting included former Women Commission chairperson Justice D. Sreedevi, former DGP R. P. C. Nair, commodore Raveendranath, business man Biju Ramesh, Jayalakshmi Silks managing director M. D. Govindan and chartered accountant Ranjith Karthikeyan.
 
A top RSS official told DC that these prominent people had called on the RSS chief as per invitation. “The meeting was not one on one but in a group. They all wanted to know more about RSS and put forth questions before the chief. He replied that anyone can associate with RSS and it is open to all”, S. Devidas, RSS sambarkh pramukh told DC.
 
In the city, Mr  Bhagwat stayed at an RSS worker’s home at West Fort. Sources told DC that he was unlikely to hold talks with BJP national president Amit Shah, expected later in the evening. Mr Bhagwat is scheduled to visit Vivekananda statue at Kowdiar on Monday at 9:15 am and return to Nagpur.
