Alagiri files plea to quash case filed against him

Crime branch and anti-land grabbing special cell had filed a case against Alagiri

Madurai: Former Union minister and expelled DMK leader M K Alagiri on Monday  filed a petition before the Madras high court bench here seeking to quash a case filed against him by the inspector of crime branch, anti-land grabbing special cell, on a complaint given by the executive officer of a local temple at Sivarakottai.

Admitting the petition, Justice N Kirubakaran ordered the inspector and the executive officer to file their counters and posted the case for hearing to September 4.

The crime branch and anti-land grabbing special cell had filed a case against Alagiri, son of DMK chief M. Karunanidhi, alleging he had created false documents for cheating.
