6 year old killed, stuffed under cot
Tenant killed the 6 year old girl
Bengaluru: In a tragic incident, a six-year-old girl was strangled to death, allegedly by her father’s tenant, at A.K. Colony in Hoodi under Mahadevapura police station limits on Monday. The victim was identified as Kavitha, daughter of Manjunath and the body was found in the tenant’s house. Police said the girl, who was playing in front of her house, went missing on Monday evening. During a search her parents found her dead at their tenant Suresh Kumar’s house, which was locked. The body was lying under a cot.
Suresh along with his wife Prathima were absconding and police suspect they have committed the crime and are on the lookout for them. According to the police, Manjunath, a water-tanker driver by profession, had rented a single bedroom house to the couple, who hail from Bihar. Suresh used to work as a fabricator at a garage in Mahadevapura, while Prathima was a homemaker, police added.
Suresh and his wife used to frequently quarrel with Manjunath’s wife over trivial issues. “The couple used to object Kavitha for beating up their child and even fought with her mother over the issue,” said Assistant Commissioner of Police G. B. Manjunath.
On Monday, the tenants locked the house and left before the parents could realise that their daughter had gone missing. When Kavitha did not return home the family started frantically searching for her. After nearly four hours, Manjunath on suspicion broke open the house and found Kavitha lying under a cot and bleeding from her mouth. He rushed her to a nearby hospital, where the doctors declared her brought dead. Kavitha was one among the four children of Manjunath, the police added.
