Hyderabad:AP Legislative Council chairman A. Chakrapani on Wednesday announced in the House that the two controversial paragraphs in the statement of  deputy Chief Minister  Nimmakayala China Rajappa, wherein he had named and given details of a rape victim stand deleted.

The Council chairman read out that he received a letter from the minister, requesting him to delete paragraphs 3 and 4 of his statement, made on September 1 with regard to a reply on the issue of atrocities against women raised by Nannapaneni Rajakumari and others.

Realising his mistake in reading out the name of the rape victim, which is against the law, Mr China Rajappa sent a letter to the chairman, requesting him to delete paragraphs 3 and 4 from his statement that mentions that the  police acted on two specific rape incidents that took place within Hyderabad and Cyberabad Police commissionerate area.

Deccan Chronicle had carried a story, explaining how the minister committed a major gaffe in not only naming the rape victim, but also giving all details of the victim on the two incidents that happened in Hyderabad and Cyberabad police commissionerate, which are not under the jurisdiction of AP.
