Kerala RSS leader murder: CPM leader’s son booked under IT act

Kozhikode: A case has been registered against Jain Jayarajan, son of CPM Kannur district secretary P. Jayarajan, in connection with an FB post on the murder of RSS leader Elamthottathil Manoj under various sections, including 66 B of IT Act.

Jain  in his FB post had justified  the murder and expressed joy over  the crime. Though he  removed the post after criticism in the social media,  he later reaffirmed his stand in another comment posted later.

The Kathiroor police, who registered the case on Wednesday, are discussing with legal experts  the various aspects of the case  and any action would be taken only after a political decision, it is learnt.   

Kathiroor Circle Inspector Prem Sadan told Deccan Chronicle that the sections slapped against Jain were  153 A of Indian Penal Code (IPC) for  promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc, section 118 D (causing annoyance to any person in an indecent manner by statements or verbal or comments or telephone calls or calls of any type or by chasing or sending messages or mails by any means) and section 66 B of IT Act for misusing computer devices.
