Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition Leader V.S. Achuthanandan on Thursday said that the case registered against Jain Raj, son of CPM state committee member  P.Jayarajan,  for hailing the RSS worker’s murder on the social networking site was natural .

Reacting to questions on the comments posted by Jain Raj on his Facebook page,  Mr Achuthanandan said that it was the usual practice to conduct investigation once a case was  registered. "Wherever there is a murder, case should be registered and the matter should be probed thoroughly. Those behind such incidents should be brought to justice,'' the Opposition Leader said.

The Kathirur police had registered a case under the IT Act for the controversial post which read:  “Since how long we have been waiting to hear this good news. Congratulations dear comrades. Feeling excited.”

Jain Raj’s post had left Marxist leaders red-faced as the party in the state and at the national level had officially denied any involvement in the  murder.  The post which appeared soon after the murder had received a big number of likes and shares.

However, the  post was deleted within a few hours following criticism from various quarters. Even other posts justifying the murder have now been deleted from his FB page.

Though the RSS activists also responded through FB posts warning the CPM of equally brutal retaliation and open threats, no case has been registered against such comments yet.

But for the moment, the  CPM-RSS fight has taken the shape of a fullscale war on the social networking sites with supporters of rival parties coming up with instigating comments against each other.
