Two schoolgirls hung from same rope on tree in Assam

Silchar, Assam:Two minor girls, both school students, were found hanging from a tree at a village in Assam's Karimganj district, the police said on Friday.

The bodies of the girls - one a class 10 student and another a class nine student - were hanging from a tree at Dalgram village in Nilambazaar police station area yesterday.

After an initial investigation, the bodies were sent for a detailed post-mortem to Silchar Medical College Hospital today, a senior police official said.

No arrest has been made yet and security was tightened in and around the village to prevent any untoward incident, the police official said.
