Kudumbashree to offer night eatery in Thiruvananthapuram

Thiruvananthapuram: People enjoying  a late evening stroll will in future be able to  have a leisurely dinner at affordable rates at a night eatery to be opened soon by the city corporation in collaboration with the Kudumbashree Gender Park.

Social justice minister, Dr. M. K. Muneer, who was giving away Onam allowances to Kudumbashree Community Development Society (CDS) members here, said the eatery would be open from 7 pm to early morning and its women staff would be provided security to make sure they were able to carry out their duties without  hassle. 

Most of the customers are expected to be  travellers and students, according to him.

Mr Muneer also revealed that  all CDS members would get an Onam allowance from this year onwards.

“The honorariums for CDS members have been doubled and Metro Rail has informed us it will provide job opportunities to catering and cleaning staff of Kudumbashree,” he said , adding that group farming by  women had been hugely successful under Kudumbashree.
