Osmania University students on hunger strike moved to hospital

Eight students were forcefully shifted to Gandhi Hospital

Hyderabad: More than eight students of Osmania University on a hunger strike were forcefully shifted to Gandhi Hospital on Thursday morning by the police.
 
The group of students from unions, including Telugu Nadu Students Federation, National Students’ Union, Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad, have been staging an indefinite hunger strike on the OU campus for the last three days protesting the Telangana state government’s announcement of regularisation of contract employees. 
 
“On the doctor’s advice that the students’ condition was deteriorating, we had to forcefully shift them to Gandhi Hospital where they are now undergoing treatment,” said A.V. Narsimha Rao, inspector, OU police station.
