Tamil Nadu: CBSE schools eager to hear PM speech
Schools run by Chennai corporation and private school managements do not seem to be too keen
Chennai: While CBSE schools in Tamil Nadu are gearing up for the live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to school students on Teachers Day on Friday, schools run by Chennai corporation as well as other private school managements do not seem to be too keen on the Prime Minister’s speech reaching their students.
As per the Central government directive, students in CBSE schools from classes 9 to 12 will be attending this session that would be telecast from 3 pm to 5 pm on Friday.
Corporation schools confirmed that they were not planning to arrange for a telecast of the speech. Neither do private school managements seem to be keen as they claimed that they have not received any directive from the state government to do so.
“The state has not insisted on the Centre’s suggestion and hence private schools are not a part of this event,” said Mr Nandakumar, president, Federation of Private Schools.
