Girl raped by village head's son in Uttar Pradesh

Jaunpur: An 18 year-old girl was allegedly raped by the son of a village head in Nadiyav village in Madiyahon area here, police said on Saturday.

The victim was sleeping in her house when the accused, identified as Lavkush Patel, son of the 'gram pradhan', barged in and raped her last night, Superintendent of Police, Bablu Srivastava said.

A case has been lodged after the complaint filed by the victim and efforts are on to arrest the accused, who is absconding, the SP said.
