Gujarat handicrafts expo in Kovai

Sarees, jewellery, handloom are in place to lure customers

Coimbatore:Mahila Mandal, Yuvak Mandal and Shree Coimbatore Gujarati Samaj hosted an exhibition with the active participation of the Government of Gujarat where exclusive articles, handicrafts and handloom have been showcased at Gujarati Samaj on Mettupalayam Road.
 
Artisans from Gujarat have brought to the expo a variety of handicrafts, handloom, terracotta and papier mache items. Besides, there was a section displaying Kutch sarees, Kutch bandhini besides borders that could be used by dress designers on garments.
 
Gold and diamond jewellery from the state of Gujarat will also be a available for the people of south. Home decorative items that could spice up interiors, shawls and woollen to keep you warm this winter and embroidery items are available for elegant office wear.
 
A wide range of Chania cholis, the traditional wear of Gujarat, is there for the people of Coimbatore. The expo was inaugurated by Tarachand J. Chheda, minister of cottage, salt industries and cow breeding, Government of Gujarat.
