New Delhi: BSP leader Mayawati’s man Friday, Mr Satish Chandra Misra, and M.P. Rungta, among others, reportedly called on CBI chief Ranjit Sinha at his official residence at 2 Janpath here.
It may be recalled that during the UPA tenure the CBI had given a clean chit to the BSP chief in a disproportionate assets case.
Union food minister Ram Vilas Paswan, who is under the CBI scanner for recruitment irregularities at the Bokaro Steel Plant, also visited Mr Sinha in March. Among other visitors were the promoters of the Rungta Group. Their visits are recorded in a log book was reportedly maintained at the behest of Mr Sinha’s wife.
Asked about the entries, the CBI director told this newspaper: “It has become a fight to the finish. I know that someone is being used as a tool to tarnish the image of the agency. I will expose them.”
